Thanks . This solved my problem . I only used OpenSuse before and never had any problems with it . Now Kubuntu works perfect .

My graphics card is Gainward NVidia gF 8600 GTGS GLH .

It’s still happen. My hardware is M/B ASUS-TUSI video onboard. The screen flash when I move mouse on type message. If anyone has any comment, please feel free to share. Thanks

didn’t work for me; flashing seems to decrease in frequency (didn’t time it), stopping krunner doesn’t do the trick either

It didn’t happen in the beginning, then it started appearing somewhere during a session (kde or fluxbox). restarting the x server seems to stop the flashing for a while, until it starts all over again
